Legacy Letters

The writing of Legacy Letters provides an opportunity to record what is important

and to share deeply personal remembrances.

As we work to complete the written legacy through interviews and discussion, you may learn

more about yourself, document your history and stories, understand your values and share your ideals.

Letters provide an opportunity to reflect on lessons learned through your journey of years

and may offer wisdom and guidance.

Completing letters may provide an immediate sense of connection, worthiness, accomplishment and completion.

 

Thank You Letters

The writing of Thank You Letters to family and other loved ones may follow legacy letters or be written separately. 

A Thank You Letter is written to appreciate the recipient, recognizing their strengths and

accomplishments and contributions to the life of the letter author and others. 

In addition, the author may include an apology, or may offer forgiveness to make restitution or

resolution of any conflict. 

The Thank You letters always include an expression of love and gratitude.
 

Experience has shown that recipients of the letter are often moved to respond in a like manner.

It is common for people to say “I wish I had told them…”.  Letters provide an opportunity to say

what is often left unsaid, or said after the recipient can receive and respond to shared sentiments.

 I am available to  facilitate the process of writing reciprocal love letters as well as the initial letters.

Sharing Your Letters

You may prefer to have your letters written by my hand in calligraphy.

 You may choose to share your letter at any time, or preserve it as part of your legacy.

You may decide upon a special occasion that offers time to discuss what you have written. 

 We will plan for the care of letters for future offering, including keeping a digital file and printed copies.

Audio or Video Legacy or Gratitude Statements

 Technology has made recordings easy to create, allowing people to see and hear you while receiving your message. A written document in advance may help you to say something more meaningful.

the person being interviewed, as well as for the person planning for the services.
